Tarragona will have a plant in the port of hazardous waste treatment
The plant, promoted by Hera Tratesa, can treat 22,500 tons of waste oil per year and will have the capacity to store over 5,200 Noxious Liquid Substances in Bulk tons.
It will run every day of the year and will also have a center for the transfer of hazardous and non-hazardous with annual capacity of 12,320 tons and a clean point for receiving waste from the waste area.
The Government has approved the integrated environmental authorization of a plant for waste management including MARPOL (from ships) and industrial sources generated in the port area agreement.
The new infrastructure, promoted by Hera Tratesa, is located on a plot of just over 10,000 square meters in the Port of Tarragona.
The plant will a solution storage and treatment of waste including some of the MARPOL Convention, such as hydrocarbons, noxious liquid substances, sewage and solid waste.
Likewise, it will treat the industrial waste generated in the area of influence of the port area.
The project involves a total treatment facilities, from the discharge of waste, its pre-treatment and recycling, either by energy use in the process or business itself.
